O’s Notes: The Verve Jazz Ensemble is Tatum Greenblatt (t), Jon Blanck (sax), Matt Oestreicher (p), Chris DeAngelis (b) and Josh Feldstein (d). They have the foot-patting zeal that pulls listeners into their groove. The brass harmonies are warm especially on tunes like “Softly As In A Morning Sunrise”. They are a tight band that has performed together since 2006. This is their first release, a winner and It’s About Time! We hope to hear more sooner than later.
