O’s Notes: Guitar lovers will be thrilled with this album, a duet featuring Gene Bertoncini (acoustic) and Roni Ben-Hur (electric), two strong jazz guitarists. They play jazzy guitar arrangements of ten pop and classics. Among the best are “That’s Earl, Brother” and “Killing Me Softly”. This is the first volume in Motema’s Jazz Therapy series. The proceeds from it’s sale go toward the Dizzie Gillespie Memorial Fund at Englewood Hospital, dedicated to providing care to jazz musicians in need without resources. In that regard, this music is healing and very therapeutic.
