O’s Notes: There are familiar names in bassist Arthur Kell’s quartet with Drummer Mark Ferber, Guitarist Brad Sheik and Loren Stilman playing alto sax. The music was recorded live in Germany during December 2010 and released on CD summer 2012. It is a mix of mostly mellow bouncy, funky fusion that can appeal to both modern jazz and fusion fans. The results are very good especially on “Quarter Sawn”, “Song For The Journey” and “Anima Negra”.
