O’s Notes: Saxophonist Brandon Wright works in front of a tight rhythm section made up of David Kikoski (p), Boris Kozlov (b) and Donald Edwards (d). The interplay between Brandon and David is strong especially on tracks like “Wonderwall”. Wright wrote six of the ten selections and brings a fresh breeze into the bebop sphere. He plays with warm tones on the cover of “The Nearness Of You” and shines on upbeat tracks like “Shapeshifter” and the funky “Walk Of Shame”.
