O’s Notes: The quartet is Stefano Bollani (p), Giovani Tommaso (b), Roberto Gatto (d) and leader Enrico Rava on trumpet and flugelhorn. They perform eleven compositions with varied pace but generally slow to mid tempo with a melancholy mood. The warmth of the brass on top of a strong rhythm section makes this one special. It is a laid set that can be used effectively in the background.
