O’s Notes: Pianist Bruce Barth leads a trio with Vicente Archer on bass and Rudy Royston keeping time. They record a live set at Small’s Jazz Club in New York City. The groove swings from the opener “Oh Yes I Will” one of eight original tracks. It’s not all upbeat as they prove their capability to sooth the soul with “Yuma” and again on the bluesy “Afternoon In Lleida”. The recording is pristine as we are able to hear all ten nuances and appreciate a wide dynamic range.
