O’s Notes: The best words to describe Beard’s performance are energetic and intense. This is honest to goodness blues. He makes his guitar scream, cry and whine creating the entire ruckus needed to convey the emotion of the lyrics. He pays homage to his blues forbearers and goes on to define his own space with strong originals like “Ten Toes Up”. The 15 tunes include both live and studio performances. It works!
