O’s Notes: Melodic Intersect is a world fusion band featuring Enayet Houssain (tabla), Hidayat Khan (sitar), Greg Hatza (keyboards), Joy Islam (g), Fred Koch (sax) Qamar Abbas (Cajon) and Avirodh Sharma (perc). They play a gentle dose of East Indian Jazz infused with folk, rock and jazz-fusion. The Indian influence is prominent on tunes like “Memory Lane”. Koch provides a soft, warm opening to “Adolescence” that changes the character a bit but the tabla and percussion bring it right back to the dominant theme. We enjoyed the refreshing feeling on “Keys Of Resolve” and the syncopated closer, “Rhythmic Paths”.
