O’s Notes: Sofia has a rich voice that is as soothing as the accompanying relaxed samba. Juan Andrés Ospina (p), Petros Klamplanis (b) and Marcelo Woloski (Percival) are the primary supporting musicians. There are also several guest artists scattered through the session and a full string accompaniment on three selections. All lyrics are in Portuguese with a full translation in the liner notes. Even without interpretation, Sofia’s voice mesmerizes listeners with vocal tone that is another instrument in the band. We liked the playful spirit of “Bom Dia”, one of seven selections written all or in part by Ribero. We also enjoyed “‘ Gente Da Minha Terra” and “Tela” featuring Itai Kriss on flute. Just sit back and enjoy it!
