O’s Notes: Drummer Jimmy Cobb takes the lead on this release. He’s joined by Ellis Marsalis (p), Orlando Le Fleming (b) and Andrew Speight (sax) who takes most of the melodies. Jimmy mixes it up with a combination of originals and standards. They really swing on “Composition 101” and “Tune” while combining warm sax and bouncing piano on “There Is Something About You”. We also liked “Johnny One Note” which includes a strong drum solo from Cobb. This is a fine CD for Sunday afternoon relaxing.
