O’s Notes: Memnon is a collection of sound portraits of Ibsen characters. It is as eclectic as it sounds. Ruth provides improvisational vocalizations along with spontaneous work on the keys by Lien. The creativity extends beyond the original compositions to the creative use of their instruments with Meyer twisting and stretching her voice to present her interpretation on the material. Similarly, Helge uses a percussive attack on the piano including strumming the strings as they present a very powerful and dynamic stage.
