O’s Notes: The music is swinging courtesy of four different trios all with pianist Ben Flint. But center stage belongs to Ellen and she belts out the melodies strongly before a live audience at two difference San Francisco area stages. From what we heard and the reaction of the audience, she is a true entertainer. There are some pop tunes like “The Dimming Of The Day” and some show tunes like “My Baby Just Cares For Me”. She shines on the latter and also the jazz standards. This is a nice package.
