O’s Notes: Carol plays the harp and leads a sextet with Pianist Billy Childs, Gary Meek (sax, cl), Larry Koonse (g), Darek Oles (b) and drummer Gary Novak. These are all accomplished musicians and it shows in their unselfish performance. The program is mostly originals by Robbins with one by Childs and two covers notably “Every Time We Say Goodbye”. The interaction between Robbins and Koonse is strong. The music is a rich with relaxing ballads like “Three Rings”, the mellow “Dolore” and the racy “Straight Away”.
