O’s Notes: This is an album dedicated to the supporting musicians who helped McPhillips become the talented vocalist that she is. As such Lin shares the stage with the current band including guitarist Scott Sorkin and pianist Danny Berthiaume who both shine on “Devil May Care”. Eddie Duran (g) steps up on “When April Comes Again” along with Mad Duran (fl). We liked the Latin bent on “I’m Old Fashioned”, “Solitude” and the swing of “Au Privave”. There are quiet moments, duets that serve as introductions and warm harmonies throughout as Lin sparkles, singing, scatting and reflecting on the people who helped her get here. It is an album filled with joy.
