O’s Notes: This is a well-balanced instrumental ensemble led by Andrew Green on guitar. John Herbert (b) and Mark Ferber (d) anchor the bottom with warm brass courtesy of Bill McHenry (sax), Russ Johnson (t) and JC Sanford (tb). Andrew composed most of the music including “Midnight Novelette” and “Short Cut”, two of the highlights. The groove is a neobop/fusion with a good blend of electric and brass.
