O’s Notes: Bassist Mark Saltman and pianist William Knowles lead a trio with drummer Keith Butler, Jr. They add Michael Fitzhugh (t, flugelhorn), Deandre Schaifer (t, flugelhorn), Leonard Brown (violin, g), and vocalists Lori Williams and Yvette Spears. They add a spiritual touch on “Space Oddity” and a nice twist on “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”. We also liked the mellow harmonies on songs like “Gentle Art of Compassion”.
