O’s Notes: Patton leads a trio with bassist David Wong and Pete van Nostrand (d). They are a tight unit that plays with precision. The program includes ten selections, a blend of standards and a couple of originals notably “Street Song”. Jeb has been the pianist with the Heath Brothers for ten years and he invited Jimmy and Albert ‘Tootie’ to join him for a couple of tracks. There is a warm duet with Jimmy (sax) and Jeb on “Last Night When We Were Young”. Perhaps the best of the session is “Cloak & Dagger”.
