O’s Notes: Lou Caputo is a master reedman who surrounds himself with an excellent cast of musicians for Not So Big Band. This I a large ensemble but as the title suggests, they don’t share all o the characteristics of the typical big band. They manage to capture the beat points of all-star big bands. The solos are meaningful. The sound is powerful, crisp and clear. More importantly they swing over each of these 12 classics! You will tap your feet and smile on this one. Our favorites are “All Blues” featuring Jann Parker singing and “Angel”.
