O’s Notes: This pairing of seasoned tenor sax players got us excited before we even played the CD based on two previous recordings together notably heavy Juice in 2004. They open swinging on “My Melancholy Baby” for a great start living up to our expectations. They trade the lead lines alternating choruses, playing cat & mouse and then harmonizing together. Harry is twelve years younger and has looked to Scott as a mentor for many years. Their sounds are similar, yet distinct. When they get together as they do on “‘Round Midnight”, it is like they are reading each other’s mind! It is delightful.
