O’s Notes: Vocalist Anne Weerapass drapes her warm tones on top of the keystrokes form Jeremy Monteiro (p) over ten standards. Belinda Moody (b) and Shawn Kelley (d) anchor the beats to form a rich session. Each of the musicians makes a strong contribution that is heard. Weerapass approaches “I’ve Grown Accustomed To His Face” with a sense of delicacy that scribes her signature on the piece. She is incredibly soulful on “Embraceable You”, one of the highlights of the session. The combination of her voice, a strong band and Monteiro’s unique arrangements make this one pop.
