O’s Notes: Oy Yeah! is a fresh collection of ten traditional klezmer songs. The Klezwoods are a Boston based group led by violinist Joe Kessler. Klezmer music originates from the Ashkenazi Jews from Eastern European countries such as Greece, Turkey, and Bulgaria. It is bouncy, festive and reminiscent of what you’d here at a circus or a carnival. The cover of the CD is an accurate depiction! This is the spirit of the music and it performed well in this collection.
