O’s Notes: Phil Woods (sax) and Bills Mays (p) are living legends of jazz who need no introduction. Their music speaks for itself. And so is the case on this recording of duos that sounds much larger. They waltz through a set of nine classics including two of Woods’ originals, swinging and smiling all the way through. We enjoyed the sprint through “Blues For Lopes”, the warmth of “Hank Jones” and “I’m All Smiles”. It is a winner.
