O’s Notes: Piero is a veteran Italian saxophonist making his American debut. He has played with a cadre of jazzmen including pianist Cedar Walton who provides support with his trio including David Williams (b) and Willie Jones III (d). Odorici contributes a swinging original (Casadias) to the eight selections. The tempo is varied with the spotlight focused on the sax man. He displays prowess on the romantic “My One and Only Love” then blitzes through the changes on “Tin Tin Deo”. We hope he stays on this side of the pond for a while!
