O’s Notes: Plainville, is as the name suggests a simple low-key city. They’re many cities with that name in the US and I have yet to find one to be excited about. This program parallels Udden’s hometown and his experiences there. Jeremy (sax) leads his band with Pete Rende (organ, p), Brandon Seabrook (banjo, g), Eivind Opsvik (b) and RK Miller (d). They are solid musicians but not the all-stars from his first CD Torchsongs. Some of the songs like “Red Coat Lane” have a country swing that gives the music a homey feel. Others like “Curbs” have more of a slow rock fusion feel. It will capture some of the progressive rock audience.
