O’s Notes: This is an interesting collection of poems with music composed and arranged by bassist Anne Mette Iversen. Maria Neckam sings the English vocals and Christine Skou sings the Danish lyrics. Dan Tepfer plays piano and John Ellis plays all reeds. At times the vocals sound like scales but things come together for this set with combinations of vocalese, spoken word and dynamic musical strokes. It is an unusual but effective way to explore the works of Gr¿n, Ibsen, Housman, Paulsen, Keats and Hardy. We appreciated and enjoyed the musical interpretations on the Poetry of Earth.
