O’s Notes: Get ready to listen to some warm, soulful blues with Montague’s well-articulated, confident vocals. She’s backed by a well-heeled quartet consisting of Mulgrew Miller (p), Kenny Washington (d), Bill Easley (sax, fl) and Peter Washington (b). We find that this is substantive music on the second track, “Unless It’s You” a rich ballad. We also liked “Why Try To Change Me Now” and “Miss Cellie’s Blues”. These were more typical of the set that we found very romantic and engaging.
