O’s Notes: This is an excellent quintet led by Dave on double bass with Robin Eubanks (trombone), Steve Nelson (vibes), Billy Kilson (d), and Chris Potter (s). The music is pleasant, uncluttered, and well articulated on upbeat syncopated songs like the title track as well as the more sedative “Candlelight Vigil”. It’s a very worthy ECM investment.
