O’s Notes: Lee gives us a refreshing taste of Brazil that is truly Quiet Joy, a fine blend on music and voice. She opens with a bubbly arrangement of “I Hear Music” that includes fine work by Duncan Moore (d) and Peter Sprague (g). Jennifer picks up her guitar to join in on the bossa nova beats of the title track, a perfect backdrop for her vocalese. Carter Dewberry makes a guest appearance on “Menina da Lua” bringing rich tones with his cello. Bassist Bob Magnusson does a fine job keeping things swinging. The more we listened, the more we enjoyed it. Highlights are “O Barquinho”, the classic “O Pato” with a cool bass solo from Buca Necak, “You Know and “Amor Certinho” with Tripp Sprague on sax.
