O’s Notes: Curtis sings a dozen romantic ballads with his straightforward gutsy voice. He gets help from Larry Goldings (accordion, vibes, keys) who co-produced and arranged the CD. John Pizzarelli also plays guitar on several tunes. But this is Stigers’ album and he sings a variety of popular songs including the romantic “A Woman Just Like You” with the island festive background. He does Paul Simon’s “American Tune” justice along with the swinging blues of “Your Mind Is On Vacation” where he solos on sax as well as delivering the words. We enjoyed listening to this album with good lyrics, solid music and great execution.
