O’s Notes: Mina sings the blues with her quintet for Red Eyes, a set that has a decided country bent. She uncovers her soul opening “The Crying Girl” before guest Archie Shepp joins her for “The Stars Are In Your Eyes”. Among the best are the subtly swinging “Oh You!” and “Sleep Babe Blues”, one of Agossi’s four originals. We also liked her take on Hendrix “Red House” and the funky “Why Did You Do It?”
