O’s Notes: Jeff Presslaff is a veteran jazz pianist who is just getting around to recording tunes that he’s written over the past twenty years. A large part of his inspiration is the two young musicians who join him to form a trio. Bassist Julian Bradford and drummer Scott Senior not only embrace his music, they expand the boundaries. Senior’s work on “Red Goddess” is exemplary and reminds us that he is an excellent percussionist. “Secrets” and “Two-Way Rays” are more relaxed ballads that show Jeff’s ability to shine on slower tempos.
