O’s Notes: Electric bassist Sean O’Bryan Smith celebrates his spirituality by injecting a taste of energetic smooth jazz into classic religious songs. Most of the tracks are instrumental covers and they all encourage peaceful Reflection. Sean drives many of the melodies along with guitarist Whit Stiles resulting in a fresh take. He also invites special guests Chuck Loeb (g), Gerald Albright (sax) and Randy Brecker (t) to sprinkle in their magic. Lisa Hearns delivers rich vocals on “Me Without You”; Gary Brown sings “Yes You Have” and Malcolm Jamal-Warner delivers the spoken word on the title track. These combinations work well for reflection or just good listening!
