O’s Notes: Pianist Danny Grissett has shown up as a sideman with Jeremy Pelt, Rale Micic, Anne Mette Iversen, Tom Guarna and Tom Harrell. He’s made his presence known on all occasions. He takes the lead on“Remembrance“aligning himself with a strong cast including Dayna Stephens (sax), Vicente Archer (b) and Bill Stewart (d). They swing through nine selections including four Grissett originals. Dayna’s voice on sax is warm and easily embraced. The session starts out burning with “Woodyn’ You”; includes a spirited Monk cover and several warm ballads notably “Renatus”. Just sit back and take it in!
