O’s Notes: Tim plays sax and employs a first class rhythm section with George Cables (p), Dezron Douglas (b) and Willie Jones, III (d). He also sprinkles an abundance of talent in along the way notably Michael Dease (tb) who appears on seven selections and wrote the opener “For Miles”. The program strikes warm chords on the arrangement of “Emperor March” and swings throughout the set. Mark Whitfield adds guitar on “Work” and “Who Knew?” a cooker written by Mayer. This is a CD to play and replay many times!
