O’s Notes: Yvonne teams up with Trio Balula Cid for fourteen selections. They open with two fine Latin instrumentals. Then Roome takes the lead and ushers us through a dozen standards. We enjoyed the Latin flavored “Where Or When” and “What Is This Thing Called Love”. Roome’s characteristic vibrato remains strong on “Am I Blue” and “All of Me”. We also enjoyed her cover of Jobim’s “Insensatez” sung in Portuguese. The recording quality is excellent adding to a very good performance.
