O’s Notes: Pianist Caselli composes a fresh set of eleven compositions. The air is light and the mood jovial starting with “Waiting For Jennifer” featuring Jennifer Hall on alto flute. Jonathan Dane adds bouncy vocals on a couple of songs notably “Out Of The Blue”. There is a good blend of slow, medium and fast tempos. Jennifer Leitham adds a dynamic bass solo and Randy Drake a powerful drum solo on “Rough Edges” with Carol Chaikin (sax) leading the melody. Caselli spreads the spotlight on the entire band and each of the musicians rise to the challenge. They wrap up the set with a taste of New Orleans led by Drake on “Lift Me Up”.
