O’s Notes: Young sax player Alex Terrier leads a band with Roy Assaf (p), Franois Moutin (b) and Steve Davis (d). They perform eleven original compositions. We liked the syncopated interaction between the rhythm section on “E.S.B. And “Ecstasy” while Alex places a cool melody on top. “Le Miroir Des Anges Dégusés” is another winner including guitarist Akira Ishiguro. Edouard Brenneisen also plays guitar on a couple of tracks notably “Thompkins Square”. This combination of swinging bebop and cool fusion places Terrier in the midst of the jazz scene as a talent to watch.
