O’s Notes: This is a free improvisation jazz session that is within the grasp of most audiences. Stomu Takeishi (b), Bill Buchen (tablas) and leader Peter Calandra (Fender Rhodes) form a well-integrated trio. They combine Indian Raga, funk and jazz-fusion for five lengthy songs. The groove is easy to embrace with elements of surprise scattered about. We enjoyed all five movements.
