O’s Notes: Sharp’s Terraplane is Lance Carter (d), Curtis Fowlkes (tb), Alex Harding (bs), David Hofstra (b) and E# (g, ts). They play fusion blues and push the envelope hard. Tracie Morris provides the poetic verse on “Nobody Know” while Eric Mingus puts raspy vocals on four other tracks. Special guest Hubert Sumlin brings his guitar to the party for two songs notably “They Say We Is”. Our favorite was “Crackertown Two-Step” with Elliott playing the steel guitar. This CD is not for everyone but it will tickle a bunch of blues fans!
