O’s Notes: In Flight is a quartet featuring Ken Wilson (sax), Glenn Ayers (d, perc), Steve Kim (b)) and producer JL Holmes (g, synth). As suggested by the title they perform tunes inspired by Latin and South American vibe. Wilson and Holmes wrote all of the music and it is light, festive and funky. Dave Glenn (tb) joins them for two selections including “Burn Before Listening” with Mike Friendman on keyboards. There are other strong selections including “World Party” and “Señor Groove” making South of America a worthwhile trip.
