O’s Notes: The quartet is Phil Markowitz (p), Tony Marino (b), Adam Nussbaum (d) and leader Dave Wilson on sax. They open swinging hard on the title track one of six Wilson original compositions. Spiral is full of rich tones and well suited for relaxing and listening. There is a lot to enjoy including the soft puffy lead line on “Ocean Blue” and the warm spirit of “Remembering”.
