Penchant Four, 2012, CD
Instrument: Female Vocals
Jazz Ruler Type: Ballads, Blues
O’s Notes: This is not your ordinary jazz vocal album as Kaylé uses her voice as an instrument as well as singing lyrics. She blends with the brass on the opening phrases of the opener “Spirals and Lines”. She charts and adventurous path with her arrangements blurring the lines and pushing the envelope. Among the best are “Will of the Wind” and “Noddin’ Ya Head Blues”. We applaud the risk taking approach charting new territory for jazz listeners.
