O’s Notes: Spring Storm is the first recording from pianist and composer Satoko Fujii’s new trio. Bassist Todd Nicholson and drummer/percussionist Takashi Itani are on board for this free spirited experimental jaunt. There are explosive, sometimes chaotic passages that are disruptive. For sure the new sound defies normal logic! Once again Fujii has entered a new space with this recording and pushes the envelope a bit further.
