O’s Notes: Doctors told smooth saxophonist Chris Godber that his asthma would prevent him form playing the saxophone. He’s been blessed to overcome that obstacle and blossom onto the contemporary jazz scene. He gets help from guitarist Lowell Hopper, bassist Eric Lampley and most notably producer, programmer and keyboardist Caleb Middleton. In addition to the easy listening tunes they get funky on “Nu Jack Swing”; drop pulsating beats on “Chill” and smooth things out on ballads like “At Last”. There’s no wheezing in Godber’s game!
