O’s Notes: Roy plays sax, sings and teaches music in Manhattan. He lives in Brooklyn and rides the train back and forth to work every day. This CD is based on poems Nathanson wrote describing his experiences on the NY Subway system. As you may imagine, there is a wealth of material there! “Subway Noah” is what a casual observer may see any day while “Dear Brother” and “Orange Alert” depicts deeper insights and emotion. This is a novel idea executed well.
