O’s Notes: Peggy performs eight jazz standards and four originals; all love songs with a soothing warm spirit. She plays solo piano on four selections also singing on “Stay As Sweet As You Are”. Guitarist Grant Geissman joins in for two songs notably “Mack the Knife”, a bouncy instrumental. The other six songs are in one of two quartets with Mike Higgins or Geissman on guitar; bassist Jim DeJulio or Ernie Nunez; Kendall Kay or Dave Owens on drums. We enjoyed the swing of “Fly Me To the Moon”, Peggy’s solo piano rendition of Strayhorn’s “Take The A Train” and her own “Drivin’ Blues”.
