Lowell Hopper, 2009, CD
Jazz Ruler Type: Pop+Jazz
O’s Notes: Guitarist Lowell Hopper also plays bass, keyboards and synthesizers. He produced this album and wrote all of the music except for two selections, both collaborations with keyboardist G. Vernon Burrell, Jr. Among the best tracks is “Just The Way Love Is”, a catchy tune that is radio friendly. Victor Pagan and Jay Scott each make a guest appearance on tenor sax. Derek Burrell lays down the bass track for a couple of tunes otherwise bass and drums are programmed or handled with keyboards. Our favorite was “Panama Nights” with Jorge Higuera playing percussion.
