O’s Notes: Pete plays sax and leads a jazz-fusion quintet with Guitarist Pete McCann, bassist Martin Wind, Erik Augis on piano and drummer Matt Wilson. These are familiar names that deliver along their solid reputations on Sweet Shadow. Mills wrote and produced all of the music with the band in mind and he allows them to stretch out a bit. The requisite cover, Ellington and Strayhorn’s “The Star Crossed Lovers” fits right in.
