O’s Notes: Eric has quickly established himself as a veteran on the jazz scene with at least 20 albums under his leadership. He tries to make music that keeps the listener engaged from start to finish. They open with the high-energy title track, one of three originals in the set of eight tracks. “Some Other Time ” is a rich ballad followed by a burner, “Blues For David” that features rousing solos by David Hazeltine (p) and Joe Farnsworth (d). Alexander is on his game throughout the set with a powerful and crisp tenor sax. He also contributes a few originals to the mix of eight tracks.
