O’s Notes: Roger Davidson has composed and performed great music in many genres. Temple of the Soul is a solo effort focused on introspective improvisations. It is billed as a series of rhapsodies and meditations. It lives up to its promise lulling us into a sense of calm on some selections and evoking thoughts on others with Roger’s characteristic drama and dynamics. Overall it is insightful and reflective, yet another dimension from the master pianist.
